Nepal in the Eastern Terai Plains produces some of the finest Low Grown CTCs. As per Tea Directs Tasters Panel, Nepali CTCs fall within the quality range of Malawi in Africa and Doors in India. CTCs are available in Following Grades and Forms. However, it is important to note that all Nepal Teas have seasonal variation in quality.

Himalayan Orthodox Teas or Specialty Teas of Nepal are cultivated and produced high up at the foothills of famous Himalaya. Some of the Tea Gardens such as Pathivara, Everest, Some sections of Kanchanjangha, Megma etc within middle and far eastern region of Nepal command direct and unavoidable view of the Himalayan Range.
Specialty tea production at 2007 was recorded at 1.65 million kilogram from 15 Tea Processing Factories located at an elevation range from 3500 ft to 9000 feet above mean sea level. The production growth rate is estimated at 17% per annum. Himalayan Teas are subjected to 4 distinct seasons influencing heavily on Tea Quality.
